Collecting and Using Information
Spotlight Software uses information we collect to operate, maintain and provide you the features and functionality of the Service and Site, to analyze how the Service and Site are used, diagnose service or technical problems, maintain security, personalize content, remember information to help you efficiently access your account, monitor aggregate metrics such as total number of visitors, traffic, and demographic patterns, and track Content and users as necessary to comply with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act and other applicable laws.
Information You Provide to Spotlight Software
You may provide us information about yourself on the Site, such as contact name, business name and type, address, phone number, email address if you register for an account with the Service, or subscribe to the Spotlight Software newsletter. We may use your email address to send you Service-related notices (including any notices required by law, in lieu of communication by postal mail). We may also use your contact information to send you marketing messages. If you don’t want to receive these messages, you can opt out by following the instructions in the message. If you correspond with us by email, we may retain the content of your email messages, your email address and our responses.
You may, of course, decline to submit personally identifiable information through the Service, in which case Spotlight Software may not be able to provide certain aspects of the Service to you. You may update, correct or delete your account information at any time by logging in to your account or by email at privacy@SpotlightSoftware.com. We will respond to your request to access within 30 days.
We will retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you services. We will retain and use your information as necessary to comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements.
Spotlight Software and Spotlight Software employees will not view your Content except: (i) to maintain, provide or improve the Service; (ii) to help you and resolve your support requests; or (iii) as Spotlight Software believes, in its sole and absolute discretion, is necessary to comply with or avoid the violation of applicable law or regulation or to cooperate with law enforcement.
Cookies and Log Files
When you use the Service or Site, we may send one or more “cookies” (a small text file stored on your computer or mobile device) to your computer to uniquely identify your browser and assist Spotlight Software to help you log-in faster, improve your navigation through the Site, and display relevant content. When you use the Service or Site, our servers will automatically record certain information sent by your browser. Spotlight Software uses your IP address and other log in information to help diagnose potential problems with equipment, help tailor Content to match your preferred interests and to otherwise administer the Service and Site.
Device Identifiers and Geo-Location Information
When you access the Site or Service by or through a mobile device, we may access, collect, monitor and/or remotely store one or more “device identifiers” or “location data,” which may include GPS coordinates (e.g. latitude and/or longitude) or similar information regarding the location of your mobile device. Device identifiers are small data files or similar data structures stored on or associated with your mobile device, which uniquely identify your mobile device and are used to enhance the Site or Service. Spotlight Software makes diligent efforts to maintain accurate information on our customers. Spotlight Software has put stringent security procedures in place to protect such information collected about our customers. We constantly monitor our systems, which are protected using industry-standard security measures. Secure Sockets Layer (“SSL”) connections are used to communicate to our system to protect customer financial information as well as encrypting vital information that customers input through the Site. Although reasonable efforts are made to secure network communications and the Service, Spotlight Software cannot guarantee that the information submitted to, maintained on, or transmitted from our systems will be completely secure.
Service Providers and Third Party Services
Spotlight Software may share your personally identifiable information with other third parties for the purpose of providing the Service to you. If we do this, such third parties’ use of your information will be bound by this Privacy Statement. We may also store personal information in locations outside the direct control of Spotlight Software (for instance, on servers or databases co-located with hosting providers).
Spotlight Software may disclose your non-private, aggregated, or otherwise non-personally identifiable information, such as anonymous usage data, platform types, etc., with interested third parties to help them understand the usage patterns for certain Spotlight Software services.
As we develop our business, we may buy or sell assets or business offerings. Customers, email, and visitor information is generally one of the business assets transferred in these types of transactions. We may also transfer or assign such information in the course of corporate divestitures, consolidations, mergers, or dissolution. If Spotlight Software is involved in any divestitures, consolidations, mergers, dissolution, acquisition, or sale of all or a portion of its assets, you will be notified via email and/or a prominent notice on our Web site of any change in ownership or uses of your personal information, as well as any choices you may have regarding your personal information.
Compliance with Laws, Law Enforcement Requests and Protection of Spotlight Software
Spotlight Software may disclose your personal information if required to do so by law, law enforcement or subpoena. Spotlight Software may disclose your personal information if Spotlight Software believes that it is reasonably necessary in order (i) to comply with law, regulation or legal request; (ii) to protect the safety of any person; (iii) to address fraud, security or technical issues; or (iv) to protect Spotlight Software’s rights or property.

Our Web site offers publicly accessible blogs or community forums. You should be aware that any information you provide in these areas may be read, collected, and used by others who access them. In some cases, we may not be able to remove your personal information, in which case we will let you know if we are unable to do so and why.
We display personal testimonials of satisfied customers on our site in addition to other endorsements. With your consent we may post your testimonial along with your name. If you wish to update or delete your testimonial, you can contact us at privacy@SpotlightSoftware.com.
If you wish to subscribe to our newsletter(s), we will use your name and email address to send the newsletter to you. We collect information for our clients, if you are a customer of one of our Clients and would no longer like to be contacted by one of our Clients that use our service, please contact the client that you interact with directly.
Service Provider, Sub Processors/Onward Transfer
Spotlight Software may transfer personal information to companies that help us provide our service. Transfers to subsequent third parties are covered by the provisions in this Policy regarding notice and choice and the service agreements with our Clients.
Access to Data Controlled by Our Clients
Spotlight Software has no direct relationship with the individuals whose personal data it processes. An individual who seeks access, or who seeks to correct, amend, or delete inaccurate data should direct his query to the Spotlight Software’s Client (the data controller). If requested to remove data we will respond within 30 days.
